Mike Rosen | India, stream near Bodh Gaya | Color photograph |  2005

Bodh Gaya, India, is the birthplace of Buddhism.  At sunset, we were leaving a tiny village near where Siddhartha (later known as Buddha) sat down under a papal tree 2,500 years ago and received enlightenment.  I noticed this tiny, clear pool of water, where the quality of the light and the deep reflections of trees, clouds and sun created an enlightened “photo op.” Being at the right place at the right time is certainly helpful.
