In the summer of 2004, my etching, “Hindsight,” was juried into the Soho20 Chelsea 10th International Women’s Art Exhibition in New York City. It being my first New York exhibition, I traveled to the opening, in July 2004, and spent a week vacationing alone in New York. I was naturally exhilarated because of the exhibition; the weather was beautiful; and I explored Manhattan to its fullest. Alone, I was free to wander, taking photographs of everything that interested me. When I returned to Minnesota, I used my photographs to inspire these scenes of New York City from the perspective of a visiting artist.
