I am investigating the individual body in dialogue with the body politic. My paintings suggest a chorus of witnesses paradoxically caught between their complicity and their separateness. I am interested in exploring what it means to be White in a racist society. What limitations, pressures, or forces do Whites impose on each other that then transform into racism? What is the interplay between assimilation and oppression? I am interested in scratching at these unseen lessons.
